Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 14, 2025

Welcome! I’m Agboola John, founder of SlangWise.com. I write about slang, modern words, abbreviations, and internet culture. By using SlangWise, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don’t agree with any part, please don’t use the site.

1. What this site is for

SlangWise is a personal blog where I share definitions, examples, history, and opinions about slang and internet language. Everything on the site is for general informational and entertainment purposes only.

You agree to use SlangWise lawfully and not to do anything that harms the site, its visitors, or interferes with the site’s operation.

2. Intellectual property — what you can and can’t do

Unless I say otherwise, the text, images, graphics, layout, and other original content on SlangWise belong to me (SlangWise / Agboola John). You’re welcome to:

  • Link to any public page or share links on social media.
  • Share short excerpts (with clear attribution and a link back).

You may not copy, republish, scrape, or redistribute full posts or large parts of the site without my written permission. If you want to reproduce more than a short excerpt, please contact me first.

3. Comments, user submissions, and community content

If you post comments or submit content (ideas, messages, images) to SlangWise, you grant me a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, edit, and use that content on the site and in promotions. Don’t post anything that is illegal, abusive, hateful, pornographic, or that violates someone else’s rights. I reserve the right to remove any comment or submission for any reason.

4. No professional advice

Content on SlangWise is my personal take on language and culture — not professional advice. If you need legal, medical, mental-health, or other professional advice, please consult a qualified professional.

5. Affiliate links & third-party content

SlangWise may include affiliate links. If you buy something through an affiliate link, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I’ll disclose affiliate relationships where they exist.

I may also link to third-party sites. I don’t control those sites and I’m not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

6. Limitation of liability

I work to keep information on SlangWise accurate and up to date, but the site is provided “as is.” I make no guarantees about completeness, accuracy, or suitability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.

7. Acceptable use & prohibited behavior

When using SlangWise you agree not to:

  • Post spam, malware, or abusive content.
  • Impersonate others or misuse the site.
  • Try to access parts of the site you’re not authorized to use.

If you break these rules, I may suspend or block your access.

8. Changes to these terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When I do, I’ll post the new effective date at the top. It’s your responsibility to check this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

9. Privacy & data

My Privacy Policy explains how I collect and use data. If you’re concerned about how your information is handled, please read the Privacy Policy on SlangWise.
